Social Efficiency Technologies (SET) is a set of knowledge that comes from an initial idea of “save something today” as jeans to improve efficiency in any matter.
With this idea in mind, first it was necessary to widen the former paradigm of saving as just a purely economic possibility. Money can be saved, of course, but there are many other things as well. Within this universe of possibilities, “saving” has a more suggestive and attractive position.
Later on, a problem came, that of associating savings with efficiency, since the latter is sometimes confused with “efficaciousness”, “effectiveness”, or “effectualness”. In a second stage it was necessary to study each term and its usage in different languages and cultures. After linking together “savings” and “efficiency”, we noticed it was understandable for only one activity. But human beings perform many different activities and play different roles in their lives, and there is always a cost of opportunity when they perform one activity instead of any another one and viceversa. Therefore, savings should be a continuous and permanent act in someone’s daily agenda, so that we are able to keep life in a healthy and dynamic balance.
Associating what mentioned above with cause & effect relationships, a new perspective was developed to illustrate that dynamic equilibrium as a transformation process, where inefficiencies are those non-necessary inputs and non-expected outputs.
This change of perspective invited us to explore some others and we discovered that there are infinite standpoints towards any phenomena. We then developed a tool to “move” in physical and time spaces to understand change and realize potential savings.  Eventually, this tool also happened to be good for personal introspection.
At this point, several technologies started to emerge: time, for example, as a reference frame for the activities we perform and their effects in short, medium and long terms, thus anticipating situations and saving future problems. On the other hand, actions depend on a decision to make them, so by studying the possibilities patterns it become clear that they are repeated along time. The conflict with this is that sometimes we become used to consequences even if they hurt us, because we loose freedom in our ways of thinking and acting due to paradigms. We found that a way to avoid those situations is by making more significative every experience as to take better and more sustainable decisions.
Afterwards, a new way of learning emerged, to say, by doing it exponentially. When a person moves to higher levels of his own consciousness he happens to become the leading character of change rather than a victim of it. SET continues to develop and to strengthen its knowledge-basis by incorporating the experiences of people saving something today.
And by this, we are laying foundations for a sustainable world.
